The Share Centre wanted a fully featured mobile share dealing service that would enhance and work seamlessly with their existing desktop share trading site. The mobile site needed to be fully functional and cross platform – BlackBerry users were an important user group so all devices needed to be catered for. The site had to share all the high security and regularity constraints to the desktop site, but also look and feel like a modern-day app.

The Share Centre researched the market and had identified early on that responsive design techniques would not be suitable for the level of detail, complex screens and wide device spectrum they needed to reach. The Share Centre identified bemoko as a leading mobile platform and mobile web development company, once selected bemoko and the Share Centre worked closely together looking at mobile user experiences that would perform well and provide a good and up to the minute experience.

Once the full commercial and technical roadmap had been evolved it was time to start work on the delivery. Speed to market was paramount as the mobile penetration was growing by the week; bemoko’s reputation was for fast delivery, security and resilience.

Execution

bemoko utilised the power of its mobile web platform. The bemoko solution was installed within the Share Centre’s secure IT infrastructure which means that the mobile site shares all the security and resilience of the desktop site. The platform was then integrated into the Share Centre’s existing share dealing site. The mobile site uses the share dealing content and user data, including share prices and trading volumes, this allows users to check a share price and buy or sell shares on their secure account directly from their mobile or tablet.  Using bemoko The Share Centre was able to deliver a web app that was highly functional, completely cross platform, secure, future proof and low cost.

By directly harvesting the data from the desktop share dealing service, bemoko has been able to generate a fully cross platform mobile version of the desktop site, but with its own unique look and feel, with advanced mobile user journeys and high speed download times, meeting all the security and regularity standards required with the financial services sector.
